Sealed proposals for the Removal and Disposal of materials and structures on the property, Demolition and Disposal of existing structures located at 1322 Bothwell Street, Greensboro, NC 27401 Any questions concerning the scope of work should be directed to: James.teele@greensboro-nc.gov. The work will require the contractor to demolish and remove the existing structure(s) at the property address identified including storage buildings, footings, foundations, slabs, driveways, asphalt, sidewalks and fencing, removal of all debris on the property, repair the lot from equipment during demolition, final grade the site and provide positive drainage as required, and placement of seed and straw on all areas disturbed A single prime bid will be received for the demolition of 1322 Bothwell Street in Greensboro, NC in the Facilities Office located at 514 Yanceyville Street. Each proposal shall be based on a stipulated sum basis. Each proposal shall include the cost of all state and local sales and use taxes All contractors are hereby notified that they must have proper license under the state laws governing their respective trades. Contractor is responsible for obtaining all permits and fees associated with this project. General Contractors are notified that Chapter 87, Article 1, General Statutes of North Carolina, will be observed in receiving and awarding general contracts. General contractors submitting bids on this project must have license classification for general construction (as set forth the license classification required under G.S. 87-1). Electrical Contractors are notified that Chapter 87, Article 4, General Statutes of North Carolina, will be observed in receiving and awarding electrical contracts Each proposal shall be accompanied by a cashier's check or a certified check drawn on some bank or trust company, insured by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, of an amount equal to but not less than five Percent (5%) of the proposal, or in lieu thereof a bidder may offer a bid bond of five percent (5%) of the bid executed by a surety company licensed under the laws of North Carolina to execute the contract in accordance with the bid bond. Said deposit shall be retained by the Owner as liquidated damages in event of failure of the successful bidder to execute the contract within ten working days after the award or to give satisfactory surety as required by law. Each proposal must be accompanied by the documentation required by the City of Greensboro's Minority and Women's Business Enterprise program included in the project manual. Failure to include such documentation is grounds for rejection of the bid proposal. No bid may be withdrawn after the scheduled closing time for the receipt of bids, except under the provisions of General Statute 143-129.1, for a period of sixty (60) days. Payment will be made on the basis of ninety percent (95%) of monthly estimates and final payment made upon completion and acceptance of work. No bid may be withdrawn after the scheduled closing time for the receipt of bids, except under the provisions of General Statute 143-129.1, for a period of sixty (90) days. The City of Greensboro reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive informalities deemed to be in the Best interest of the City of Greensboro.
