The City of Union is seeking sealed bids for upgrading the Monarch Pump Station. Work will consist of the demolition of existing piping, pumps, & electrical; removal & replacement of existing comminutor unit & controls. Provide and install new piping, valves, HVAC Upgrades, new windows and replace existing door hardware. Paint interior & exterior of pump station. City will provide new pumps & control panel. Lump sum bid. The Project generally consists of the following upgrade and improvements: 1. Demolition of existing piping and pumps inside the existing pump station. 2. Providing and installing the new piping and valves. 3. Installing the new pumps (pumps provided by the City). 4. Removal and replacement ofthe existing comminutor unit and controls. 5. New bypass pumping connection. 6. Demolition ofexisting electrical and controls. 7. Installation ofthe new pump control panel (panel provided by the City). 8. Providing and installing the new electrical wiring, panels, conduit, etc. 9. HVAC upgrades. 10. Providing and installing the new windows and the replacement ofthe existing door hardware. 11. Painting the pump station interior and exterior. Bids will be received for a single prime Contract. Bids shall be on a lump sum basis. Bidders must deposit security with all bids. Security shall be in the form of a certified check or bid bond made payable to the Owner and shall be for an amount equal to not less than five percent (5%) of the amount ofthe bid. Provisions ofthe security shall be as described in the Information for Bidders. Performance and Payment Bonds, each in the amount of 100% ofthe contract price will be required ofthe successful bidder. No bid will be considered unless the bidder is legally qualified under the provisions ofthe South Carolina Contractor's Licensing Law (South Carolina Code of Laws as amended on April 1, 1999, Chapter 11, Sections 40-11-10 through 40-11-428). Contractors shall have a classification of WP or WL. The Owner reserves the right to waive any irregularities, or to reject any or all bids. Bids may be held by the Owner for a period not to exceed sixty (60) days from the date ofthe opening of bids.
