The scope of the seismic retrofit includes, but is not limited to, the following items: wall anchoring systems for both buildings; installation of new steel beams (drag beams) in the fire station building; diaphragm strengthening at various locations; strengthening of existing moment framing steel column to beam connections; additional anchoring to add in-plane shear transfer; strengthening the moment frame at east lobby wall in the fire station building; non-structructal components; and extending roof drain line at planter area facing Fair Oaks Avenue. Additionally, there are various architectural renovations to the kitchen, living room, restrooms, offices, and dorms including, but not limited to removal and replacement of flooring, ceiling tiles, lighting, furniture, appliances, and cabinetry; removing of office partitions; applying new paint; replacement of fire detection devises; re-roofing; providing new HVAC equipment; and minor electrical improvements. This seismic retrofit scope of work (Plan Set A, Project No. HMGP DR-4344-148-123R) of this project is funded by Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP) funds and the tenant improvements scope of work (Plan Set B) is funded by American Resue Plan Act (ARPA) funds.
