Location and Description. The Project is located on B Street just north of the intersection with Woodland Avenue in the City of San Rafael. The project primarily consists of replacing an existing concrete box culvert with a new concrete box culvert that will be partially cast-in-place and partially precast. Attention is directed to section 18-13.01 of the Technical Specifications which outlines important coordination between the contractor and PG&E to ensure the culvert installation can be completed concurrently with PG&E's effort to support their existing pole. PG&E's contractor will supply a boom truck that will brace their pole while the City's contractor digs the trench, installs a custom precast section of culvert, and immediately backfills within a maximum 24-hour window. Questions or requests for clarifications regarding the Project, the bid procedures, or any of the Contract Documents must be submitted using the online platform. Oral responses are not authorized and are not binding on the City. Bidders should submit any such written inquiries at least five Working Days before the scheduled bid opening.
