Demolition, site work and new construction of a civil project in San Fernando, California. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project; for the construction of a water / sewer project; and for the demolition of a water / sewer project.

The City has not awarded the contract yet. Please check after April 1st for an update. The project consists of the replacement of City of San Fernando Reservoir No. 4. The existing reservoir will be demolished and a new 1.1 million gallon potable water storage reservoir will be installed. Construction shall be according to the Drawings and Project Manual including Specifications prepared by Kennedy/Jenks Consultants accepted by the Owner It is the policy of the City, as directed by City Council, to encourage the use of local area businesses in construction contracts including vendors, suppliers, labor, etc. The City reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any minor irregularities in the bid documents. Bidders may not withdraw their bid for a period of sixty (60) days after date set for opening thereof The Contractor must follow the procedures as set forth in the Instructions to Bidders for acceptance of bids. Bids will be accepted only if submitted on a proposal form furnished by the City. Each bid must be accompanied by cash, certified check, cashier's check, or bidder's bond made payable to the City of San Fernando or issued by a surety admitted to do business in California, for an amount equal to at least ten percent (10%) of the amount bid. Such guaranty to be forfeited to the City should the bidder to whom the contract is awarded fail to enter into the contract. Bids will be accepted only from contractors licensed in accordance with the provisions of the Business and Professional Code of the State of California. Prior to contract execution, the Contractor and his/her subcontractors shall obtain a City business license. At the time of bidding, the Contractor must possess a valid California Class A Contractor's License. The State Director of the Department of Industrial Relations has established the general prevailing rates of per diem wages and rates for overtime and legal holidays in the locality in which the work is to be performed. Not less than said prevailing wages shall be paid for work on this project No contractor or subcontractor may be listed on a bid proposal for a public works project (submitted on or after March 1, 2015) unless registered with the Department of Industrial Relations pursuant to Labor Code section 1725.5. No contractor or subcontractor may be awarded a contract for public work on a public works project (awarded on or after April 1, 2015) unless registered with the Department of Industrial Relations pursuant to Labor Code section 1725.5. This project is subject to compliance monitoring and enforcement by the Department of Industrial Relations. Converse Project No. 19-31-168-01
