Canal Liner Repairs, Mile Post 172.44 to Mile Post 294.93, (California Aqueduct), Mile Post 0.00 to Mile Post 14.82, (Coastal Branch), State Water Facilities, California Aqueduct, San Joaquin Field Division, Kings and Kern Counties, California. The project includes providing, when directed, labor, materials and equipment or services, construction equipment, hauling of construction equipment and commercial diving services, for removal of concrete panels and placement of concrete liner, crack repair, and fabric formed concrete in the California Aqueduct. The aqueduct will not be dewatered to perform this work. A. Providing underwater diving services of two certified diving crews for performing underwater construction work. Such diving operations shall comply with Section 01351 - Diving Provisions, for all diving procedures during all phases of construction. 1. All dives in the California Aqueduct shall comply with Department's dive policy at the time of submittal. All diving shall be coordinated through the Engineer for clearance and scheduling requirements. The Dive Request must be approved by the Engineer before dive activities can commence. 2. Two diving teams may be necessary so that construction and inspection of work may be done simultaneously. B. The general scope of the work includes: 1. Conduct asbestos survey of canal liner features. 2. Removal of concrete panels in the aqueduct. 3. Disposal of the concrete and materials off the work site. 4. Placement of concrete panel liner. 5. Concrete repair. 6. Joint sealant. 7. Concrete surface preparation and crack repair. 8. Placement of steel angle battens, expansion bolts, and waterstop. 9. Placement of fabric formed concrete liners. 10. Underwater work. 11. Cleaning underwater surfaces with high-pressure waterjets. 12. Corrugated metal pipe. 13. Gravel and embankment fill. 14. Excavation. 15. Quality control testing. 16. Removal and replacement of existing fencing.
