Demolition, site work and addition to a municipal facility in North Aurora, Illinois. Working plans call for the addition of a municipal facility; for the demolition of a municipal facility; and for site work for a municipal facility.
**The owner has determined a prequalified list of construction managers. Staff will be reaching out to company representatives to schedule interviews. Any and all questions shall be submitted via email to jlaskowski@northauora.org by 4:00 P.M. April 8, 2022. Answers and addenda, if generated, will be posted to the Village website for all proposal holders to view. No verbal answers will be provided. The Village of North Aurora reserves the right to reject any or all proposals, to waive any and all technicalities, solicit additional proposals, and to make any additional decisions that are deemed to be in the best interest of the Village. The Public Works Department has outgrown its current facility. It has been determined that for the Public Works Department to effectively and efficiently meet its service delivery expectations current and future, a new facility is needed for vehicles, equipment, and staff. The space needs is estimated at between 60,000 and 75,000 square feet. The Validation Phase and Concept Design is in progress at this time and will be complete prior to the Construction Manager (CM) and the Village of North Aurora signing the Agreement between Owner and Construction Manager as Constructor. We anticipate the new structure will include administrative offices, lunchroom, locker rooms, toilet and shower facilities, conference room, vehicle storage, equipmentstorage, mechanic bays, and wash bay. Site work will include a new salt dome, relocation of the fuel station, the stormwater storage, excavation, grading, and paving. Three options are currently being considered forthe facility. The expansion of the existing facility, the demolition of the existing facility and reconstruction of the new facility on the same property, and the construction of a new facility on a property adjacent and contiguous to the western property line of the currently property. Concept Design Site Plansfor each of the three options will be prepared by Williams Architects, and presented to the Village Board for their input. It is anticipated that the Construction Manager will provide order of magnitude cost estimates of these three options, depending on the schedule of the project and when the Construction Manager is formally contracted for the project
