As of January 6, 2022, an engineer has been selected for the project. A firm timeline for construction has not been disclosed. *The closed solicitation has been included below for reference: The Matanuska-Susitna Borough is requesting proposals from qualified A/E firms to evaluate and design gym flooring repairs and replacement. The gym floor structure is wood framing with diagonal ship lap and hardwood planked flooring covered with a plastic gym surface. The gym floor has sagged over the years and is no longer a flat surface. The crawl space below the gym has a vapor barrier that is not properly installed and the crawl space may not have adequate ventilation. In addition to design and bid documents provide an assessment on the current status of the gym floor, design to flatten out the floor, new gym flooring options, crawl space vapor barrier, and meet code ventilation requirements for a crawl space. The gym is located on the north end of the DSJ Borough Building located at 350 E Dahlia Ave Palmer Alaska. Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification not required for this project. Project delivery will follow the traditional design-bid-build process.
