Renovation of a theater / auditorium in Chicago, Illinois. Completed plans call for the renovation of a theater / auditorium.
Auditorium Lighting and Control Equipment Replacement The electrical contractor shall be responsible for all materials, components, and services necessary to provide a complete and operational system as described herein and shown on related drawings. The work described in these specifications shall include, but not be limited to the following: 1. Procurement of all necessary permits and inspections as required by the local jurisdictions, and compliance with all applicable code requirements. 2. Verification of all dimensions and conditions at the jobsite. The contractor shall make any necessary adjustments as required to provide proper clearances and masking. Any deviation from the drawings or these specifications shall be made only after approval of the owner has been made in writing. 3. Remove and disposal of the existing dimmer rack enclosures and associated control equipment not being reused as directed by the lighting systems integrator and the owner. Retain existing house lighting and work lighting fixtures scheduled to be retained and remove and dispose of house light, work light, and stage lighting fixtures as scheduled for replacement with new LED lighting fixtures. 4. Receive at the jobsite all lighting, control, distribution and accessory equipment as scheduled in the attached bill of materials dated 5/11/21, and as provided by the lighting systems integrator. Provide complete installation of the lighting and control system according to the project documents, including all conduit, wiring and other unscheduled equipment and materials as required for complete installation of the lighting and control system. 5. Provide and install new primary wiring devices rated for wet location use at the existing stage dimmer rack location as required to install the new stage lighting relay panels #RP-1 through #RP-3 at new dry locations as directed by the owner and the lighting systems integrator. Provide new primary distribution devices rated for wet location use as required to connect the new main breaker relay panels to the existing stage dimmer 3 phase, 4 wire feeder. 6. Provide and install new load wiring devices rated for wet location use at the existing stage dimmer rack location as required to extend the existing stage lighting, house lighting, and work lighting circuits to the new relay panels #RP-1 through #RP-3. Provide parallel connections as directed by the lighting systems integrator and connect to the new lighting relay panels according to the new stage lighting circuit schedule. 7. Provide and install new primary wiring devices rated for wet location use at the existing emergency dimmer rack location as required to install the new emergency lighting relay panels #RP-4 at a new dry location as directed by the owner and the lighting systems integrator. Provide new primary distribution devices rated for wet location use as required to connect the new main lug house light relay panel to the existing 3 phase, 4 wire emergency feeder. 8. Provide and install new load wiring devices rated for wet location use at the existing emergency dimmer rack location as required to extend the existing house and work lighting emergency circuits to the new emergency relay panel #RP-4. Provide parallel connections as directed by the lighting systems integrator and connect to the new emergency relay panel according to the new emergency lighting circuit schedule. 9, Install the new lighting control processor enclosure at the existing signal processing rack. Install the associated emergency control enclosures at a new dry location as directed by the owner and the lighting systems integrator. Provide 120vac power supply to the lighting control processor and connect the emergency lighting enclosures as shown in the attached riser diagram. Extend one Belden #1583A cable to the existing signal processing rack. 10. Install the new DIN rail control enclosure #CE-1 at the attic as directed by the lighting systems integrator. Extend one Belden #1583A cable to the existing signal processing rack. 11. Provide blank panels as required and install the new touchscreen control station #WLP-1 at upstage left as directed by the owner. Extend one Belden #1583A cable to the existing signal processing rack. 12. Install new house/work light control stations #EP-1 through #EP-8 at the existing back boxes. Extend one Belden #8471 control cable and one #16AWG control wire to the new control enclosure #CE-1 in a home run or daisy chain configuration. 13. Provide conversion trim hardware as required and install 27 type SA, 11 type SA-1, 12 type SC, and 2 type SQ new LED house light fixture at auditorium ceiling as directed by the systems integrator. Extend one (CAT-5) from each new LED fixture to the CE-2 control enclosure in a serial or daisy chain configuration as directed by the lighting systems integrator. 14. Provide conversion trim hardware as required and install 7 type SE new LED pendant house light fixture at the frontofhouse catwalk. Extend one (CAT-5) from each new LED fixture to the CE-2 control enclosure in a serial or daisy chain configuration as directed by the lighting systems integrator. 15. Retain existing incandescent lighting fixtures type SD, SF and SG, and install new LED conversion lamps as directed by the systems integrator. 16. Install 12 type SX work light fixtures at the onstage pipe battens as directed by the systems integrator. 17. Install all new theatrical spotlight fixtures and accessories at the front-of-house catwalk and onstage lighting battens according to the attached bill of materials and the lighting design plot as provided by the lighting systems integrator. Focus and adjust theatrical spotlights as directed by the lighting systems integrator. 18. Provide demonstration of the completed installation, and any necessary adjustments of systems and components required for complete and proper operation. 19. Submit record drawings as required by the owner.
