For San Diego Bay Native Oyster Living Shoreline 1. Furnish all labor, materials, equipment, supplies, transportation, and disposal as necessary to complete the construction of San Diego Bay Native Oyster Living Shoreline Project, located in south San Diego Bay adjacent to Chula Vista Wildlife Reserve. 2. The work shall include, but not limited to the following as shown in the Plans and described in the Specifications: A. Transport District supplied concrete oyster reef elements from the staging area at the locations as shown on the plans. B. Installation of concrete oyster reef elements at the locations and elevations as shown on the plans. 1. Installation shall be completed by water. Installation by land, using the south road, is not permitted. a. Oyster reef elements shall be placed in a series of six (6) treatment areas, with each area consisting of 5 offset rows of three clusters placed at different tidal elevations along the project site. b. Each individual reef ball array shall be organized into reef clusters of four (4) reef elements placed in a square pattern, as shown on the plans. 1) Approximate footprint of each reef cluster is eight (8) feet by eight (8) feet. c. Conduct pre- and post-construction surveys: 1) Pre-construction survey noting any environmental conditions of concern that differ from those reflected on the contract drawings. 2) As-built survey and record of the final location and elevation of each Reef Elements.
