The Spring Hollow WTF Sodium Hypochlorite Upgrade consists of demolition of an existing chlorine gas system and construction of a new liquid sodium hypochlorite storage and feed system for disinfection at the WTF. The project includes installation of new bulk storage tanks capable of diluting bulk deliveries of sodium hypochlorite and new day tanks in the existing chlorine room. New chemical metering pumps and transfer pumps will be provided for chemical handling. The project includes building modifications to provide equipment access for tank installation and liquid chemical containment, as well as HVAC modifications in the sodium hypochlorite room to provide continuous ventilation and heating. Electrical and controls improvements are included for the new chemical feed equipment. The project includes replacement of two programmable logic controllers (PLC's) at the WTF and one existing controller at the Raw Water Pump Station (RWPS). It is not the intent of the specification to be proprietary, or to exclude any manufacturer or dealer. Any brand names used in these specifications are for comparison only. Deviations and/or alternates will be given consideration if they are considered to be suitable and acceptable for comparison. Any deviations or alternates must be submitted, in writing, with your bid. Deviations or alternates discovered after bid award or material receipt, not stated in your bid, shall be grounds for disqualification and nullification of order. The Authority shall provide the mechanism for the evaluation of all information received; the final determination of responsible offertory. The Authority reserves the right to waive informalities and irregularities and to accept or reject any or all bids. The Authority reserves the right to procure from State Contracts when it is determined that these contracts are in the best interest of the Authority.
