Site work for a civil project in Moncks Corner, South Carolina. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.

Berkeley County is requesting bids from qualified firms for Cane Bay Water Tower and Main Extension Project. This project plans to install a new elevated water storage tank and construct new water mains to meet the system storage requirements and improve the system pressure in the Cane Bay/Wildcat area near Moncks Corner, SC. The proposed elevated storage tank will be located northeast of the intersection of Black Tom Road and Raysor Lane. The projects service area consists of residential land, with minimal commercial development. Performed work includes installation of approximately 9,300 LF (linear feet) of 16-inch water main which includes approximately 1,700 linear feet of 16-inch horizontal directional drill and two jack and bore operations to install 24-inch steel casing across SCDOT rights of way, all necessary appurtenances, demolition of an existing 0.5 MG steel elevated storage tank, and installation of the 1.0 MG elevated water storage tank. In addition, a new water meter station will be constructed to feed and monitor the proposed Cane Bay Water Tower and 16-inch water main. The proposed meter station will be located along the north side of Gaillard Road approximately 900-ft east of the intersection Black Tom Road and S Live Oak Drive. This portion of the Work includes installation of approximately 285 LF of 16-inch water main and all necessary appurtenances for the installation of the master water meter station. BID BOND: Bids over $100,000.00 shall be accompanied by a bid bond or certified cashiers check in an amount equal to 5% of the bid. Performance Bond (EJCDC Form C-610): A performance bond satisfactory to the county, executed by a surety company authorized to do business in this state or otherwise secured in a manner satisfactory to the county, in an amount equal to 100 percent of the price specified in the contract; Payment Bond (EJCDC Form C-615): A payment bond satisfactory to the county, executed by a surety company authorized to do business in this state or otherwise secured in a manner satisfactory to the county, for the protection of all persons supplying labor and materials to the contractor or its subcontractors for the performance of the work provided for in the contract. The bond shall be in amount equal to 100 percent of the price specified in the contract. LIQUIDATED DAMAGES: The Successful Bidder shall agree that if the Work, or any part thereof, is not completed within the time agreed and indicated in the Contract Document that he shall be liable to the County in the amount as stipulated below for each and every calendar day the completion of the Work is delayed beyond the time provided in the Contract. a. Substantial Completion: The Successful Bidder shall pay the County $500.00 for each day that expires after the time specified in Paragraph 17 above for Substantial Completion until the Work is substantially complete. b. Final Completion: After Substantial Completion, if the Successful Bidder shall neglect, refuse, or fail to complete the remaining Work within the Contract Times (as duly adjusted pursuant to the Contract) for completion and readiness for final payment, the Successful Bidder shall pay the County $500.00 for each day that expires after such time until the Work is completed and ready for final payment. Offerors requiring additional information may submit their questions in writing. Questions may be directed to https:// proposals.berkeleycountysc.gov/. The deadline for submitting written questions is November 1 at 12:00 PM EST. Verbal information obtained otherwise will not be considered in the awarding of the solicitation. PROJECT COMPLETION TIME: Project shall be substantially completed within 540 calendar days of the Countys Notice to Proceed. Final completion shall occur within 570 calendar days after Notice to Proceed. Liquidated Damages shall be applied as shown in the Agreement. This Proposal does not commit Berkeley County to award a Contract, to pay any costs incurred in the preparation of a Proposal or to procure or contract for the articles of goods or services. The County reserves the right to waive any informalities or irregularities, to reject any or all Bids received as a result of this request, or to cancel in part or in its entirety this Proposal, if it is in the best interest of the County to do so.
