Demolition, site work, paving and new construction of a bridge / tunnel in Tigard, Oregon. Design plans call for the demolition of a bridge / tunnel; for the construction of a bridge / tunnel; for site work for a bridge / tunnel; and for paving for a bridge / tunnel.
This project will replace the existing bridge with a new bridge wide enough to accommodate pedestrians and cyclists (on both sides) along with vehicles. Environmental regulations will require a new bridge to be significantly higher and longer than the current bridge, which may necessitate some rework of the existing Fanno Creek Trail just west of the bridge. The creek greenway will be excavated to construct a large floodplain detention pond to mitigate the bridge project; the pond will store water during storms. As of August 25, 2025, this project in design. It is expected that this project will bid for a general contractor Spring 2026. Construction is expected to begin sometime in 2026.
