The City of San Jose Office of Economic Development and Cultural Affairs (OEDCA) is seeking two separate business district managers to develop and implement strategies for the existing volunteer-led Monterey Corridor Business Group and evolving Tully Road - Eastridge Business Corridor in forming and establishing a formal nonprofit business association, identifying the geographical boundaries of the area, as well as recruiting association membership, and building a business-attraction strategy to generate enhanced economic activity each area. The district manager will actively support each of the business corridor groups through a year-long engagement to fulfill each association's vision and goals. This work should also build the groundwork for each business district's long-term sustainability strategies for a clean, safe, vibrant business corridor, and serve as a conduit for the existing and developing resources. This RFP is a component of the City's Small Business and Manufacturing Recovery and Resiliency Initiative to enhance OEDCA's current work and provide additional support to small businesses and manufactures in underserved areas of the City hardest hit by the pandemic with the overall goal to enhance neighborhood business networks and support long-term resiliency.
