Site work for a civil project in Knoxville, Iowa. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.

This project is the reclamation of the DeLong AML site in Marion County, Iowa. In general, the work includes, but is not limited to, impoundment discharge, clearing, grubbing, excavation, channel construction, pipe installation, sediment and erosion control, and permanent seeding with 1.0 acre of wetland construction. Bid quantities include but are not limited to 22.9 acres of clearing and site preparation, 157,900 cubic yards of excavation, 282 tons of Class E riprap, 5396 lineal feet of channel construction, 4540 sq. feet of tied block mat, 21.2 acres of permanent upland seeding, 0.3 acre wetland fringe seeding, and 0.4 acre of pollinator mix seeding. A complete list of bid items is provided with the plans. The services of a professional land surveyor, licensed in Iowa, shall be required for this project. The land surveyor shall be responsible to replace property pins and develop a boundary retracement survey. The anticipated cost of construction to reclaim the site is expected to range from $502,000 to $595,000. Liquidated Damages Per Day $250 Bidder shall provide a cashier's or certified check or bid bond for the project in the amount of 10% (ten percent) of the base bid (no alternates included). The bid security shall be made payable to the State of Iowa, Division of Soil Conservation and Water Quality (hereafter "Division"), and shall be forfeited and become the property of the Division in case the bidder fails or refuses to enter into contract and furnish bond within fourteen (14) calendar days after his proposal has been accepted. Checks will be returned to the bidders. Questions concerning the Plans and Construction Specifications should be addressed to Wallace Greenlees, P.E., 515-281-5643. All other questions concerning other Contract Documents should be addressed to Ryan Starkey, Project Coordinator, 515-242-5003. In order to be considered in a final addendum, written questions must be received no later than August 24, 2021. The undersigned hereby agrees, if awarded the contract, to execute the proposed contract and to furnish satisfactory performance bond in an amount not less than one hundred percent (100%) of the contract award within fourteen (14) days after the date of approval of award of the contract, and to provide all supervision, labor, materials, and equipment required to complete the project designated above, for the prices hereinafter set forth, in strict compliance with the Contract Documents prepared by the Division of Soil Conservation and Water Quality, Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship. *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document.
