COVID-19 Notice: A teleconference will be held on the bid opening day due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Bids will be publicly read aloud. A conference line will be announced via an amendment to the solicitation approximately seven (7) calendar days prior to the receipt date for bids. A site visit will be held on 1/18/2022 at 9:00AM EST. Participants shall meet the COR, Kevin Zlogar, in front of the Lake Building (formerly Building 7) near the gazebo. Requests for Information of a technical nature must be provided in writing and shall be submitted by the prospective bidders only by email to Dale.Aubin@va.gov. Oral questions are not acceptable. The subject line must read: 631-21-003 Upgrade Sanitary Sewer Phase 2-Technical Questions. Questions shall be received by 2:00PM EST on 1/25/2022. All bidders are responsible for monitoring and downloading any amendments from Contract Opportunities on https://sam.gov/content/opportunities. The Contractor shall be required to (a) commence work under this contract within 10 calendar days after the date the Contractor receives the notice to proceed, (b) prosecute the work diligently, and (c) complete the entire work ready for use not later than 450 days after receipt of notice to proceed. *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document. After award, but prior to the start of any field work, the contractor shall contact the Project Engineer/Manager (i.e. COR) to review proposed methods and plans for completion of work and to review infection control procedures, interim life safety procedures, above ceiling and wall penetration permits and hot permits. Field work may not commence until these plans have been approved as detailed below. The project consists of removing and replacing approximately 6000 LF of exterior sanitary sewer piping as well as associated manhole work as described in the contract documents. All sewer lines will require temporary bypass during construction. The project also includes limited relining of sewer pipes, see contract documents for details.
