Sealed bids will be received by the City of Foley, at Foley City Hall, for the furnishing of all labor and materials and performing all work for constructing the following contract: Demo and Replacement of the North Apron Hangars Foley Municipal Airport Foley, Alabama At the specified time, all bids will be publicly opened and read aloud. The opening will be held at Foley City Hall, City Council Chambers, 407 East Laurel Avenue, Foley, Alabama 36530. All prospective bidders are strongly encouraged to attend. Major items of work include the demolition and replacement of the T-hangars located on the North Apron at the Foley Municipal Airport. Approximate quantities include: 1. Demolition of Existing T-Hangar - 3 EA 2. T-Hangar Building System - 3 LS 3. Electrical Work Associated with T-Hangar - 3 LS The project shall be completed within 250 Calendar Days of the Issuance of Notice to Proceed. Liquidated Damages for this project shall be $500.00 per Calendar Day. The Owner's award of this contract is conditioned upon Bidder or Offeror satisfying the good faith effort requirements of 49 CFR 26.53. As a condition of bid responsiveness, the Bidder or Offeror must submit the following information with their proposal on the forms provided herein: (1) The names and addresses of Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) firms that will participate in the contract; (2) A description of the work that each DBE firm will perform; (3) The dollar amount of the participation of each DBE firm listed under (1) (4) Written statement from Bidder or Offeror that attests their commitment to use the DBE firm(s) listed under item (1) to meet the Owner's project goal; (5) If Bidder or Offeror cannot meet the advertised project DBE goal; evidence of good faith efforts undertaken by the Bidder or Offeror as described in appendix A to 49 CFR Part 26. The Contractor must purchase and obtain the plans and specifications from the website listed above or obtain them from Volkert in order to submit a bid. Bids must be submitted upon the forms included within the contract documents and specifications. Bids shall include all pages included in Division I Bid Documents. Submission of the entire contract book is not required. No bids will be considered unless the bidder, whether resident or non-resident of Alabama, is properly qualified with the State of Alabama. In addition, non-residents of the State, if a corporation, shall show evidence of having qualified with the Secretary of State to do business in Alabama. The Contractor shall hold a current and appropriate license from the State Licensing Board for General Contractors, Montgomery, Alabama. This project will require the Prime Contractor to possess a valid Alabama General Contractors License with Heavy and Railroad Construction (H/RR) Major Classification or an appropriate Heavy and Railroad Construction Specialty Classification. The Contractor shall comply with Section 31-13-9, Code of Alabama 1975. If the Contractor employees one or more employees in the State of Alabama, Alabama law requires that the Contractor provide the City of Foley proof of enrollment in E-Verify. The Contractor shall provide proof of enrollment in E-Verify along with the bid. No bid shall be withdrawn for a period of 120 days subsequent to the opening of bids without the consent of the Owner.
