For Central Fire station Roof replacement The work applies to the Limit of Work areas noted on the Drawings. All work required without limiting the generality thereof includes all labor, materials, equipment, and services required to perform the work fully in the drawings and specifications and to provide a complete finished project and includes, but is not limited to, the following: 1. Roofing Demolition of the entire roof includes, but is not limited to: a. Completely strip, remove and legally dispose of all existing layers of bitumen and built-up roofing, and underlayment, including but not limited to all layers polyisocyanurate insulation, hot mopped asphalt adhesive, deteriorated wood blocking, metal flashing, fasteners, sealants, adhesives, mastics, and debris. The Contractor is hereby notified that the sealants and mastics in the roofing tested positive for asbestos. See spec. b. Removal and legally disposal of all existing skylights. c. Removal and legally disposal of unused roof top A/C units. d. Remove and dispose of all existing roof drains including, but not limited to: strainers, bowls, clamp rings, drain inserts, fasteners, adhesives, sealants and mastics. Carefully chip away enough of the existing concrete, or modify the existing metal deck to install the new drains. New EPDM Roofing Work on the entire roof incudes but is not limited to: a. Furnish and install a complete new fully adhered.060" EPDM membrane roofing system; including but not limited to: 1) Continuous .030" self-adhered vapor barrier. 2) On concrete decks - fully adhered polyisocyanurate insulation composite, with high-density polyisocyanurate cover board set in low rise urethane foam roofing adhesive. 3) On metal decks - fasten tapered insulation with coated screws and adhere the high density urethane over screws with low rise urethane foam roofing adhesive 4) 60 mil EPDM roofing membrane system fully adhered to cover board. 5) Mechanically attached 3/4" plywood at concrete curbs. 6) Self-Adhered EPDM membrane curb flashings and membrane flashing strips. 7) All EPDM roofing accessories to complete the roofing system. b. Furnish and install new wood blocking where existing blocking is deteriorated and as needed to meet the new insulation heights. The height of the blocking on each roof area shall match the highest point of the new tapered insulation at its highest point. c. Furnish and install all new premanufactured, prefinished, edge metal. d. Clad low tower walls above high roof, and upper floor wall masonry above roofs B and C with flat seam aluminum cladding. e. Furnish and install all new cast iron roof drains set in fast setting concrete mortar in concrete deck, and below deck clamps on metal deck, with all accessories. f. Roofing Warranty: Provide 25 year single-source total system EPDM Roofing System warranty, with 70mph wind speed coverage. g. Cutting of new reglets in wall and parapet above the lower terrace EPDM roofing, adding new EPDM flashing on the masonry and covering the flashing with new aluminum counterflashing. h. Replace the deteriorated rollers on the aluminum sliding door used to access the terrace and clean the threshold. i. Install galvanized ladder from the terrace roof to the high roof.
