Renovation of a detention facility in Appleton, Wisconsin. Completed plans call for the renovation of a detention facility.

Requesting bids for a contractor to replace a small air conditioning unit and air handling unit in the Justice Center. Outagamie County is seeking bids from qualified contractors to replace an a small air handler and air conditioning unit at the Outagamie County Justice Center located at 320 S Walnut St., Appleton WI 54911. This equipment provides cooling for the radio room which is located in the penthouse area of the Justice Center. A PO will be issued no later than end of day September 15, 2021. Final completion shall be no later than 5:00 pm CT on December 30, 2021. Failure forthe contractorto achieve final completion by that time willresult in a $50.00 per calendar day, December 30th, liquidated damages penalty. Scope of work shall include equipment and labor to replace the air handler, evaporator coils, condenser unit, refrigerant, line-sets, thermostat and all other ancillary items needed to replace the existing system with a new and complete system having capacities that match or exceed the existing system. The new equipment must be compatible with the existing electrical power feeds. Contractor shall also include a new disconnect for the outdoor condenser unit. Acceptable equipment manufactures include Trane, Daikin, Mitsubishi, Rheem, or other equivalent manufactures with approval from Outagamie County. Demo and site clear the existing air handler, ac unit and associated line-set. Install the new air handler in same location the old unit was removed form. Modify as needed and connect the new air handler to the existing ductwork. Connect condensate drain to existing drain line, modify as needed to make connection. Set the new condenser on the existing outdoor pad on the roof of the Justice Center. Run new refrigerant piping using the same roof penetrations and hanger locations. Insulate lines as required. Properly seal roof penetrations to match existing. Provide, install and wire a digital controller that is designed to control all aspects of the new system. Leak test the system, pull a vacuum on the line set and fill the system with refrigerant. Reconnect all electrical power and control voltage to the condenser and AHU. Extend lines to reach new units if required. Follow all manufactures recommendations and requirements for installation. Start units and test the operation to assure everything is working correctly. Schedule work in a manner that minimizes downtime between the removal of the old unit and the installation of the new unit. Once the project is started the contractor must work consecutive days until the project is completed. Provide one year materials and workmanship warranty.
