Site work for a water / sewer project in Sandusky, Ohio. Conceptual plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
Erie County, Ohio is selecting professional engineering firms (under ORC 153.65-.69)for potable water system flow modeling analysis, and subsequent distribution system improvements recommendations for the purposes of re-allocation of bulk supplier purchases. Project summary scope is as follows: 1. Perform water flows modeling on entire existing Erie County distribution system. System consists of approximately 180 miles of 4" to 24" lines in suburban areas, with6 elevated tanks and 4 main pumping stations; and approximately 150 miles of 4"to 16" lines in rural areas, with 2 elevated tanks and 1 main pumping station. There are 2 primary suppliers; with a total of about 6 MGD on average. The western one provides about 75% of the total supply, and the one to the east has the rest. 2. The modeling needs to consider an alternate of supply from the east increasing to approximately 40 to 45% of the total. 3. Based on the flows analysis of the alternate supply, provide recommendations and preliminary cost estimates of systems improvements needed to adequately support the change in supply. 4. Professional services shall be completed by 12/15/2021. The method of contractor selection has not been determined at this time.
