Renovation of a municipal facility in Palm Springs, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.

The work is comprised of the removal and replacement of approximately 20,000 square feet of roofing material. Including but not necessarily limited to: obtaining a building permit (at no fee), from the City of Palm Springs Department of Building and Safety; Ordering and procurement of all necessary materials; mobilization to the project site; protection of existing facilities and equipment; selective demolition, including removal and disposal of all existing roofing materials to roof substrate; cleaning and testing of all drains and scuppers for proper function; verification of proper surface drainage; removal, disposal and replacement of any damaged roof sheathing; roof preparation and installation of a mechanically fastened single ply roofing membrane on all roof surfaces; Demobilization including cleaning and removal of all construction debris; Obtaining final inspection and permit sign off from Building Officials; Arranging for roofing material manufacturer inspection and certification as necessary to provide 20 year, nonprorated, Manufacturer's Warranty and Contractor 5 year Workmanship Warranty. each bid shall be accompanied by proof of a certified or cashier's check or Bid Bond in the amount of 10 percent of the total bid price payable to the City of Palm Springs The Bidder shall guarantee the Total Bid Price for a period of 120 calendar days from the date of bid opening The Contractor may elect to receive 100 percent of payments due under the Contract Documents from time to time, without retention of any portion of the payment by the City, by depositing securities of equivalent value with the City in accordance with the provisions of Section 22300 of the Public Contract Code In accordance with the provisions of Palm Springs Ordinance No. 1756, and Section 7.09.030 of the Palm Springs Municipal Code, "Local Business Preference Program", subsection (5) "Local Preference in Public Works Contracts (Sub-Contracting)", the prime contractor shall use good faith efforts to subcontract the supply of materials and equipment to local business enterprises and to subcontract services to businesses whose work force resides within the Coachella Valley. The City of Palm Springs Public Integrity Ordinance advances transparency in municipal government and assists public officials in avoiding conflicts of interest. The City's Public Integrity Ordinance, codified in Chapter 2.60 of the municipal code, reflects the City's interest in ensuring that companies (and other legal entities that are not natural people) doing business in the community are transparent and make disclosure as to their ownership and management, and further that those companies disclose the identity of any person, with an beneficial ownership interest of five percent (5%) or more. The Contractor shall pay the general prevailing rate of per diem wages as determined by the Director of the Department of Industrial Relations of the State of California for the locality where the work is to be performed. All contractors and subcontractors must furnish electronic certified payroll records directly to the Labor Commissioner (via the Division of Labor Standards Enforcement) as further described in Article 5 of the Construction Contract (Mutual Obligations). The Contractor and any subcontractors shall pay not less than said specified rates and shall post a copy of said wage rates and other notices prescribed by regulation at the project site. The City reserves the right after opening bids to reject any or all bids, to waive any informality (non-responsiveness) in a bid, or to make award to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder on the basis of the total sum of Bid Schedules A and B, and reject all other bids, as it may best serve the interest of the City. If there are multiple and/or alternative Bid Schedules, Bidders are required to complete and submit a bid on all Bid Schedules.
