A timeline for award has not yet been established. 20062.00 Westfield State University invites sealed proposals in response to Westfield State University for Horace Mann Condensing Unit Replacement. The project consists of selective demolition of existing rooftop mounted air conditioning condensing units, installation of new condensing units, and the installation of new insulated refrigerant piping from the new condensing units to the existing air handlers on the roof and within the building. The DX coils in the air handling units are also to be replaced. All proposals for this program are subject to the provisions of either or both Mass. G.L., Chapter 30, Section 39M as amended and Mass. G.L., Chapter 149, Section 44A-44T inclusive. Attention is directed to the minimum wage rate to be paid on the work as determined by the Commissioner of Labor and Industries under the provisions of Mass. G.L., Chapter 149, and Section 26 to 27 D inclusive. The Awarding Authority reserves the right to waive any informality in or to reject any and all bids if it is in the public interest to do so. The Work will be conducted in the following sequence of demolition/construction: 1. Mechanical Equipment Replacement a. The cooling system shall be off for the duration of construction. 1) Perform pre-demolition air handling airflow testing. 2) Demolish and remove condensing unit and refrigerant piping. 3) Install new condensing units and refrigerant piping 4) Install new DX coils in existing air handling units. existing air handling units shall remain functional at all times, except for weekend or overnight shifts when the evaporator coils are being replaced. 5) Complete controls. 6) Startup, testing, and balancing Horace Mann Center (333 Western Ave, Westfield, MA 01086) a. Replace five (5) roof mounted condensing units. Replace associated refrigerant piping and DX coils in air handling units. Modify existing roofing and shaft walls to remove and run new piping. New structural steel on existing dunnage to support new condensing units. New electrical connections to equipment. Provide new controls and connect to existing building management system.
