Request for Qualifications (RFQ) Electrical Engineering/Design Firms Douglas Fire / Ambulance Headquarters Stand-By Generator Replacement and Electrical Upgrade Project The Town of Douglas, Massachusetts ("Owner") requires the services of a qualified "Designer" within the meaning of M.G.L. Chapter 7C, Section 44, to provide professional design and construction administration for the Douglas Fire / Ambulance Headquarters Stand-By Generator Replacement and Electrical Upgrade Project at 64 Main Street in Douglas, Massachusetts. The Douglas Board of Selectmen will choose a Designer in accordance with Town of Douglas Designer Selection Procedures. The Designer will develop construction bid documents and cost estimates for completing the following projects at the building: the upgrade of electrical service and infrastructure and a new stand-by generator with automatic transfer switch and ancillary devices for surge suppression, as well as fuel storage, noise and exhaust management, cooling, and any other components required for the reliable, efficient, and safe operation of the generator. Applicants shall be a registered Architect (AIA) or a Licensed Professional Engineer in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and have designed, and administered the construction of, similar improvements to municipal buildings in Massachusetts. This work requires site visits, building and system plan preparation, cost estimating, and assistance during bidding and construction. The total budget for the Project is $292,200 including the design work specified in this RFQ. The Designer's fee will be negotiated. Interested parties are reminded that the terms of the RFQ are essential contract requirements as if fully set out therein, and shall supersede any contrary provisions submitted by a respondent.
