As of November 16, 2021, this project has not yet been awarded. A timeline for award has not yet been established. The Contract majorly consists of the following: Furnishing and installing approximately 11,738 linear feet of 12-inch ductile iron water main along Rankin Mill Road and Camp Burton Road, 153 linear feet of 8-inch ductile iron water main, and 65 linear feet of 6-inch water main, including all fittings, valves, air valves, hydrants and other appurtenances. All materials and workmanship shall be in accordance with all referenced plans and specifications herein. Sealed Proposals and MWBE Documentation (Affidavits and Good Faith Efforts) must be submitted on the blank forms provided and as specified in the bound copies of the contract documents. This is a bifurcated bid process. Therefore, the Proposal and MWBE Documentation shall be enclosed in two different sealed envelopes addressed to Mr. John Fersner, Engineering Division, 300 West Washington Street Greensboro, NC 27401. The outside of each envelope shall be plainly marked with the Project Name; Contract Number; the name, address, and license number of the Bidder; and with the notation "BID ENCLOSED" on the envelope containing the Proposal, and the other envelope with the MWBE Affidavits and Good Faith Efforts noted as "MWBE DOCUMENTATION". Neither City nor Engineer will be responsible for copies of the Bidding Documents obtained from sources other than the City of Greensboro City of Greensboro personnel will discuss MWBE requirements and the Engineer will be available to discuss the Contract and answer pertinent questions. Attendance is strongly encouraged. No proposal shall be considered or accepted by the City unless at the time of its filing the same shall be accompanied by a five percent bid security as indicated in the Instructions to Bidders. A separate performance bond and payment bond each in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price will be required of the Successful Bidder following award of the Contract by the City. Consideration will be given only to proposals submitted by contractors licensed in the state of North Carolina under the Contractor's Licensing Act of 1925 or as amended. The City reserves the right to waive any informality or to reject any or all bids or to award such contract as in its judgment is deemed to the best interest of the City.
