Site work, new construction and renovation of a water / sewer project in Vernon, British Columbia. Design plans call for the construction of a water / sewer project; for site work for a water / sewer project; and for the renovation of a water / sewer project.
Upgrades to the water filtration system for the Greater Vernon area involving construction of a new water filtration facility at the Mission Hill water treatment plant. The project includes a new water filtration system, a new building for labs and control rooms, upgrades to waste-stream handling, related piping and equipment, and electrical, mechanical and control systems. TIMELINE: Preliminary design is ongoing. Consultant engineer will provide detailed design and recommend site upgrades for the addition of filtration at the existing treatment facility. Funding has been announced by the federal and provincial governments for the project. Further tender and construction timelines may be determined in late summer 2024, upon approvals. *Federal contribution is $16.3 million, BC government contribution $13.6 million, and the Regional District of North Okanagan is investing over $10.9 million. Federal and provincial funding is conditional on fulfilling all requirements related to consultation with Indigenous groups and environmental assessment requirements.
