A firm timeline for construction has not been disclosed. *The closed solicitation has been included below for reference: New Jersey Transit Corporation (NJ TRANSIT) is issuing this Request for Proposal (RFP) to secure a Consultant to provide Master Planning, Conceptual, Preliminary and Final Design, and Construction Assistance Services, for the Newark Penn Station Modernization Project. This RFP is to obtain Proposals from qualified professional firms to conduct Master Planning, Conceptual, Preliminary and Final Design and Construction Assistance Services for the Newark Penn Station Modernization Project. The goal of this Project is to perform master planning and design activities to develop construction documents that address immediate state of good repair needs and long-term capital improvements and present opportunities to better integrate the station within the context of the communities in the surrounding region. As a result of this RFP, NJ TRANSIT will enter into a Contract for Phase 1 services only. Technical Proposals shall include all Phases. Cost Proposal should only include Phase 1. All firms submitting proposals for this Project must have related experience of a similar magnitude In addition, Consultants shall not enter into a contract with a Subconsultant unless the Subconsultant provides a copy of the Business Registration Certificate to the Consultant. This Project is also subject to Public Law 2005, Chapter 51 / Executive Order 117 (2008) and N.J.S.A. 19:44A20.13, 19:44A-20.26, and 20.27 concerning political contributions.
