Demolition, site work and renovation of a parking garage in Palo Alto, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a parking garage; for the demolition of a parking garage; and for site work for a parking garage.
***As of November 9, 2021, the project has not yet been awarded. It is scheduled for Council Approval on 11/15/2021.*** The consists of two office buildings that share a common plaza deck above a three-level, below grade parking garage. The existing horizontal expansion joint consists of metal side flanges with a membrane below that spans the joint. A protective metal cap covers the membrane assembly. The horizontal expansion joint transitions to a vertical joint at the interface between the plaza deck and planter/garage walls. The vertical expansion joint consists of a backer rod and sealant. Contractor is to remove the existing membrane at the expansion joint and replace with a new one as detailed by the project documents. As a part of this work, the partial demolition at the bottom of one of the existing planter boxes is required to complete the new waterproofing membrane installation. Site will be restored with colored concrete to best match existing surrounding color concrete.
