The City of Bakersfield is requesting bids from experienced and reputable contractors for providing a Contract for Construction of HUD-funded Curb, Gutter and Sidewalk/Oleander Area. Award, if any, resulting from this Invitation to Bid shall be for a one (1) year period. One (1) original bid signed by an official authorized to bind contractor and one (1) copy of the signed bid, are to be submitted to the Purchasing Division, Attention: Kim Berrigan, Purchasing Officer, 1600 Truxtun Avenue, Second Floor, Bakersfield, CA 93301. A sample contract is available for download under the "Documents" tab. Please review it carefully. This is the contract the successful Bidder is expected to execute without alteration. If any changes are desired, they must be submitted to the City for approval prior to bid opening. If approved, the changes will be made public for all prospective bidders. Bidder shall not be allowed to alter or negotiate contract language after the acceptance of Bidder's proposal. Bid Bond 10.00% Payment Bond 100.00% Performance Bond 100.00% Liquidated Damages $500 per day Estimated Bid Value $151584.00 Project Duration One year Failure to execute the contract without alteration may result in rejection of the Bidder's proposal and the retaining of a different Bidder by the City.
