**As of Sept. 23, 2021, the awarded bid is J.D Williamson Construction for $235,000. The start and completion date has not yet determined. Bids must be submitted in a sealed envelope, bearing on the outside, the name and address of bidder and the name of the project, "Sippo Valley Trail Bridge Project". Work will consist of furnishing all services, labour, materials and equipment necessary to perform work as per plans and specifications set forth by the Owner. The project will consist of the construction of a new bridge along the Sippo Valley Trail in Tuscarawas County, Ohio. The Stark County Park District reserve the right to reject any or all bids, and to waive any informalities or irregularities in the bids received. Stark Parks manages the Sippo Valley Trail located in Tuscarawas Township, Stark County Ohio. The Sippo Valley Trail Bridge Project is to replace a 6 span timber beam bridge with a pre-fabricated steel truss bridge. The standard specifications of the State of Ohio, Department of Transportation, including supplemental specifications listed in the plans and changes listed in the proposal shall govern this improvement. Payment for all labor, mobilization, equipment and materials for the project shall be included in the lump sum bid price. The scope of work is as follows: -Existing trail shall be closed on each side of the bridge project starting at Manchester Road (Route 93) to the west of the bridge going east of the bridge to Skyland Road during construction. - Contractor shall provide and erect closing signs along the trail. -Erect barricades at location specified by the Stark County Park District on each end of the project. - Barricades shall conform to Ohio DOT maintenance of traffic standard drawings. - Timber beams are to be removed and returned to Stark Parks. Care is to be taken when removing and transporting the beams. - Pier bents are to be removed in their entirety and can be disposed of offsite. - Remove existing abutments to the level indicated in the plans. - Install new piling for each abutment. - Construct new concrete abutments. - Place rock channel protection between existing and new abutments. - Place pre-fabricated bridge on new abutments. - Construct new concrete backwalls. - Backfill behind new abutments in 6 inch lifts. Bring embankment to within 9 inches of final trail grade. - Stark Parks will complete trail construction. Additional site work - Construction site shall be graded and seeded. - Seeding and mulching is to be applied to all areas of exposed soil between the right of way lines, and within the construction limits for areas outside the right of way lines covered by work agreement or slope easement.
