Demolition and site work for a warehouse / distribution facility in Weyburn, Saskatchewan. Completed plans call for the demolition of a warehouse / distribution facility; and for site work for a warehouse / distribution facility.
The City of Weyburn is seeking quotations from qualified contractors to provide building demolition work on the old fleet storage building located at the CIty of Weyburn's Public Works Yard (located at 55 16th Street NE., Weyburn, Saskatchewan). The City of Weyburn constructed a new fleet storage facility to replace the aging storage facility that has reached the end of its life span. The old fleet storage facility was originally constructed as a round house and used as a locomotive repair shop by Canadian Pacific Rail. The building was converted to the City's Public Works fleet storage facility when the City purchased the property. The deteriorating round house is over 100 years old with numerous structural failures that are beyond repair. An abatement contractor has removed the asbestos, mercury, lead and PCB materials from the building in preparation for demolition. The successful proponent will be fully responsible for the demolition and removal of the round house building. The City would like the building's concrete foundation salvaged and left in place as is and the rest of the demolition rubble transported to the City of Weyburn Landfill for disposal. It is anticipated that the demolition work will be completed by December 31, 2021
