BRANCH RENOVATIONS: Rand Road Branch, 1585 Rand Rd, Palatine, IL, & North Hoffman Branch, 3600 Lexington Drive, Hoffman Estates, IL, This Contract is subject to the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act (820 ILCS 130/1 et seq.). The Project consists of renovation of two branch locations of the Library, the interior public spaces including finishes, lighting, power, and low voltage systems, with minor work to fire protection and HVAC systems. Work at both Branch locations are included in the Project under a single prime contract. Both locations are tenant arrangements. All M/E/P/FP work is design build. No bid shall be withdrawn after the opening of the bids without the consent of the Palatine Public Library District for a period of sixty days after the scheduled time of opening the bids. The successful bidder must comply with all applicable Federal, State and local laws, ordinances, rules and regulations including but not limited to: the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act (820 ILCS 130/1 et seq.) and the Illinois Human Rights Act (775 ILCS 5/1-101 et seq.). All bidders must provide with their bids an executed Certification of Eligibility to Enter into Public Contracts pursuant to the Illinois Criminal Code (720 ILCS 55/33E-11). The Contractor is required to furnish sufficient insurance and guaranty and indemnity to the Board of Library Trustees of the Palatine Public Library District covering the officers, agents, employees and volunteers of the Board and the Library District against any and all claims which might arise for damages to persons and/or property due to the negligence of the Contractor or Subcontractors or their officers, agents, employees or servants, during the construction of the said improvements and until the said improvements have been finally accepted as complete by the Board of Library Trustees. Execution of the Contract by the Board of Library Trustees is contingent upon receipt of required bonds and certificates of insurance. The lowest bid will be determined by the amount of the Base Bid alone or in combination with either or both Alternate Bids as may be selected by the Board of Library Trustees. The right to waive technicalities, irregularities and informalities, or to reject any and all bids is reserved by the Board of Library Trustees.
