Site work for a mixed-use development in Petaluma, California. Completed plans call for site work for a playground / park / athletic field; and water / sewer project.

UPDATE: https://storage.googleapis.com/proudcity/petalumaca/2024/07/FY25-Adopted-Budget.pdf The all-weather synthetic multi-use field at Lucchesi Park was installed in 2000 to accommodate the growing demand for year-round youth sports and recreation. Since 2000, the field has remained one of the most active athletic fields in Petaluma, used by youth and adult soccer and lacrosse programs, specialty camps, adult programs, and off-season clinics. The turf field was last replaced in 2009 and has surpassed its expected service life. There are also underlying drainage issues which need to be corrected. Staff continues to explore alternative options for replacement. As of July 25, 2024, this project is included in the city's 2024-2029 Capital Improvement Program (CIP) 269 _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ As of June 20, 2024, the project is on hold pending Council direction. The project is tentatively scheduled to appear before City Council in September 2024. The Lucchesi Multi-Use Turf project will replace the existing synthetic turf with new materials and address drainage issues at the site. The all-weather field is used heavily by resident youth and adult recreation programs and leagues. The field is used primarily by soccer and lacrosse groups and the turf is now past its expected 10-year service life. Correction of drainage issues will be performed prior to laying new turf. Investigation and testing was performed in January 2022. The design team is exploring a potential shock absorbing underlay that could help with drainage as well as improving player safety. While it would be a slightly higher initial cost, the shock pads are expected to last for two 10-year turf cycles. New infill materials that meet city goals will be used instead of crumb rubber. Fees charged for the use of the field will provide most of the funds for the project. Design was completed in FY21-22, with a scheduled bid opening in June/July 2022. Construction will take place in FY22-23. This project is included in the City of Petaluma's FY 2022-2027 Capital Improvement Plan (CIP). As of June 28, 2022, information regarding a design team or a general contractor is not available. Construction is anticipated in FY 2022-2023.* *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change. The content management team will continue to pursue additional details as they become available.
