Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Santa Fe Springs, California. Completed plans call for site work for a bridge / tunnel; road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; and sidewalk / parking lot.

The work to be done consists of furnishing all materials, equipment, tools, labor, andincidentals as required by the Plans and Specifications. The general items of work include, but may not be limited to, PCC curband gutter, PCC curb ramps, PCC driveway, PCC sidewalk, unclassified excavation, PCCpavement, asphalt pavement, Traffic Signal improvements, landscape and irrigation, PCC box culvert, center median islands, hardscape, adjusting utility covers to grade,signing, striping, and other associated roadway work items. Engineer's Estimated Cost: $925,000 to $990,000 Pre-Qualification for Bidders: Not Required License Type Required: A Liquidated Damages: $2,000.00 Per Work Day Bid Bond Percentage: 100% A pre-bid meeting or walk through has NOT been scheduled for this project. The local prevailing wages, as determined by the State of California, Director of Industrial Relations pursuant to the provisions of Section 1773.2 of the Labor Code of the State of California are on file at the City Hall, City of Santa Fe Springs, 11710 Telegraph Road, Santa Fe Springs, California 90670, and are available for review by any interested party on request at City Hall. The Contractor for this work shall perform all the basic regulations, requirements and procedures pursuant to the Davis-Bacon Act and related prevailing wage statutes, including Title I of the State and Local Fiscal Assistance Act of 1972. All contractors and subcontractors must furnish electronic certified payroll directly to the Labor Commissioner (aka Division of Labor Standards Enforcement). No contractor or subcontractor may be awarded a contract for public work on a public works project (awarded on or after April 1, 2015) unless registered with the Department of Industrial relations pursuant to Labor Code section 1725.5. The project is subject to compliance monitoring and enforcement by the Department of Industrial Relations The AGENCY will deduct retention from progress payments as specified in Section 9 of Part 1 - General Provisions, of the Special Provisions. The Contractor may substitute an escrow holder surety of equal value to the retention. The Contractor shall be the beneficial owner of the surety and shall receive any interest thereon. Substitution of securities for monies withheld to ensure performance of this contract will be permitted pursuant to Government Code Section 4590. In entering into a public works contract, or a subcontract, to supply goods, services, or materials pursuant to a public works contract, the Contractor, or subcontractor, offers and agrees to assign to the awarding body all rights, title and interest in, and to, all causes of action it may have under Section 4 of the Clayton Act (15 U.S.C. Section 15) or under the Cartwright Act (Chapter 2 [commencing with Section 16700] of Part 2 of Division 7 of the Business and Professions Code), arising from purchases of goods, services, or materials pursuant to the public works contract or the subcontract. This assignment shall be made and become effective at the time the awarding body tenders final payment to the Contractor, without further acknowledgment by the parties. The Bid must be accompanied by certified or cashier's check, or bidder's bond, made payable to the City of Santa Fe Springs as AGENCY, for an amount no less than 10 percent of the amount bid. A labor and materials bond and performance bond will be required prior to the execution of the contract in the form and amount set forth in the contract documents. The successful bidder shall be licensed in accordance with provisions of the Business and Professions Code and shall possess a valid State Contractor's License "A" at the time this Contract is awarded. The successful Contractor and all subcontractors will also be required to possess business licenses from the City of Santa Fe Springs prior to commencement of work. The AGENCY reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive any irregularity in any bid received, and to be the sole judge of the merits of the respective bids received and to take all bids under advisement for a period of 30 days. The award, if made, will be made to the lowest responsible bidder as so determined by the AGENCY. Please direct written requests to the Department of Public Works, City of Santa Fe Springs, PO Box 2120, Santa Fe Springs, California 90670. Upon payment in full, Specifications will be mailed. It is the CITY's practice to mail Specifications the same day payment is received, but it remains the responsibility of the Contractor to request such with enough time prior to the bid opening date to evaluate the project and prepare bid documents. The City is not responsible for lost or delayed mail. Copies of the Plans, Specifications, and Contract Documents may be obtained during regular business hours at the Office of the City Engineer of the City of Santa Fe Springs, 11710 Telegraph Road, Santa Fe Springs, California 90670. Regular business hours are from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. (Closed on alternating Fridays)
