Site work for a bridge / tunnel in Powell River, British Columbia. Completed plans call for site work for a bridge / tunnel.
Seismic retrofit consisting of the removal and installation of sixteen (16) new approach span bearings. Installation of ten (10) shear keys, eight (8) steel brackets, and improvements of the south embankment. Condition renewal consisting of mill and fill of the existing deck with new concrete overlay, installation of a vertical face concrete parapet and steel bicycle railing, abutment joint elimination, joint replacement at the two (2) piers, zone coating of superstructure elements, steel coating touch-ups and overall concrete repairs. The site is located on Highway 101 (Arbutus Avenue), 1 km northeast of the Powell River Dam, on the northern side of the City of Powell River. It is located on Segment 2580 between KM 36.70 and 37.84 in accordance to the LKI system. Documents can be obtained from www.bcbid.gov.bc.ca.
