This is a Primary Electric Rehabilitation Project to provide and install a new medium-voltage primary electric line from the Paint Mine Transformer to the Pear Orchard Transformer and the Haile's Cave Transformer. This will extend the new electric line that was installed in an emergency contract in late 2017 and early 2018. This project will include excavation of a ductbank and the laying of two 4" PVC conduits, one active and one spare. Directional drilling will be used to cross Rt. 157 and the stream by Paint Mine. Directional drilling will also be used to cross the newly paved driveway by the Visitor Center. Two medium-voltage switches are provided in this project. One is to allow isolation of the Haile's Cave line. The other is to allow isolation of a line tapped off from the Haile's Cave line to go to a future photovoltaic installation. In addition, this project will provide an electric feed to the tollbooth near the Police Station. This electric feed will be used for lighting and window-unit air conditioners. The feed is to be sourced from the electric panel in the Police Station. The driveway from the Police Station to the tollbooth will be open cut and repaired to run the feeder. The project is broken up into a base bid and two add-alternates. The base bid project replaces the electric line from Paint Mine to Pear Orchard. Add Alternate #1 replaces the electric line to Haile's Cave. Add alternate #2 provides spare conduits in the directional drills under Rt. 157 and under the stream. Refer to the contract Plans and Project Manual for all of the construction details contained in this Project. This work will be performed at the J.B. Thacher State Park in Voorheesville, NY, Albany County. All Contractors for this project shall physically complete the Work in 9 months.
