Site work and paving for a sidewalk / parking lot in Wallingford, Connecticut. Completed plans call for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot; and for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot.
As of November 15, 2021, the project has not yet been awarded. A timeline for award not yet been established. For Wallace Avenue East and West Parking Lot Improvements. Electronic changes to any of the bid pages including the specifications and general terms & conditions is not allowed and may result in the rejection of the bid. All Contractors bidding this project are advised that it is the Town's intent to engage a qualified and competent contractor possessing the necessary and appropriate manpower, equipment and experience to perform parking lot improvements, including but not limited to paving, concrete curbing, bituminous concrete curbing, conduit installation, line striping, signage, restoration, and incidental work at Wallace Avenue East and West Parking Lot Improvements in the Town of Wallingford. The Town intends to award the bid to the responsive and responsible bidder offering the lowest total estimated cost. The Owner will issue a Notice to Proceed to the Contractor within 10 days after awarding the contract. Failure to start the work or to perform the contracted work shall, in the sole opinion of the Engineer, constitute a basis for a "Breach of Contract" and may result in termination of the contract Amount of bid surety 5% performance bond contract period or date delivery required 100% The work under this Contract (Work Authorization) shall be completed within forty-five (45) calendar days from the issuance of a Work Authorization/ Notice to Proceed, unless otherwise amended in writing by the Town Engineer or her designee. It is the Town's intent to allow paving up until November 19, 2021 at the Town's discretion and weather permitting. This work shall consist of furnishing, placing, maintaining and removing sedimentation control systems as shown on the plans or as directed by the Engineer. Maintaining shall include the clean out of accumulated sediment. A Certified Check, Cashier's Check or Bid Bond in the amount stated on the contract proposal, made payable to the "Treasurer, Town of Wallingford", must be submitted with each bid, as a guarantee that in case the contract is awarded, the bidder will execute such contract and furnish satisfactory Performance and Labor and Material Bond if required. Unsuccessful bidders shall be entitled to return of surety where the Agent has required bid deposits. A successful bidder shall forfeit any surety required by the Agent upon failure on his part to enter into a contract within ten (10) days after being notified of the award. The Purchasing Agent further reserves the right to reject any or all bids, in whole or in part; to award any item, group of items or total bid unless otherwise specified by the bidder, and to waive informality or technical defects, if, in his judgment, the best interests of the Town of Wallingford will be so served.
