Background During routine infrastructure CCTV inspections, the subject manhole was found to be holding water in the invert channel. Upon further CCTV inspection from downstream, video/still pictures show pipe deflection, possibly the result of differential settlement from poor subgrade materials. Site The site is in the northbound lane of Glascock Field Drive, approximately 250 feet west of the intersection of Stone Springs Blvd and Glascock field drive. 42201 block, Glascock Field Dr. Sterling VA, 20166. A site drawing is included in Attachment C: Site Plan. Description of the Work The work includes, but is not limited to, establishing bypass pumping operations; traffic control; excavating to, and removal of the subject manhole E1; removing unsuitable subgrade soils; replacing unsuitable subgrade materials with approved compacted fill back to proposed subgrade elevation; installing a new manhole at elevation appropriate to achieve proper grade to allow unimpeded flow per normal operation; and final restoration.
