The scope of work generally includes the following: Pipeline and manhole emergency repairs; Pipe replacement by way of trenchless pipe bursting; Pumping and/or diversion of sewer flows; Temporary traffic control; Manhole cover readjustment or repair; Supported activities and other miscellaneous work related to sanitary and storm drain sewer systems including, but not limited to, closed-circuit television (CCTV) inspection, manhole and pipeline inspection, cleaning and removal of debris, testing, and coordinating with other agencies to obtain construction permits. A Class A, Contractor's License is required for this work. Work will be done and payments will be made in accordance with provisions more particularly described in the plans and specifications adopted by the San Carlos City Council on July 12, 2021 and on file in the office of the City Clerk. Bids are required for the entire work described herein in accordance with the instructions to bidders. The Engineer's Estimate is between $450,000 and $550,000. Bids must be accompanied by a Proposal guarantee amounting to ten (10%) percent of the bid as described in the specifications. Said guarantee shall be forfeited to the City in case the bidder depositing the same does not, within fifteen days after written notice that the contract has been awarded to the Contractor (1) enter into a contract with the City and (2) furnish Performance and Payment Bonds as described in the specifications. The term of the contract shall be for one year or until all work as defined in the schedule of quantity has been completed, whichever comes first from the award date. If the Contractor fails to complete the work within the time limit specified in each individual project, the Contractor shall pay liquidated damages to the City, computed at the rate of Five Hundred Dollars ($500) for each calendar day beyond the specified time limit until the project is completed.
