Halifax Transit requires an expansion to the bus storage garage to accommodate up to 62 SBE Battery Electric Buses (BEBs) and charging infrastructure for future bus storage requirements. The project includes the construction of two building additions to expand the existing bus storage facilitys capacity to accommodate 242 SBE. To accommodate the existing site constraints and requirement for 62 SBE Battery Electric Buses, the bus storage garage shall require an addition to each of the south and west building elevations (total of approx. 50,000 sq. ft). To align with the Halifact target of net-zero municipal operations by 2030, the new addition will be built to a net-zero standard or net-zero ready.
