The anticipated tasks included within the scope of services are described below. Utilizing knowledge of cost-effective approaches from previous experience on similar projects, the ideal solution will propose a project plan that aligns with these tasks. The County of Santa Barbara is issuing this Request for Information (RFI) to solicit feedback from access control system Integrators in an effort to gather ideas, recommendations, for replacing or upgrading existing with a next generation enterprise access control system. This process is only intended to help us gather information on products and features available on the market. The RFI process may be followed by the development of a replacement plan, budget, schedule, and future possible procurement of a new enterprise access control system. We are managing access to facilities with the use of the DSX Enterprise Level Electronic Access Control Platform. The DSX system components have reached end-of-support and end-of-life status. This may lead to system outages or failures. Control panels are not equipped with memory to allow system continuity during an outage. Data has to be re-loaded to the panels. Large transmissions of data could take an extensive period of time leading to business disruptions. Limited compatibility with other original equipment manufacturers (OEM) prohibiting integration with video surveillance technology.
