This project consists of constructing a fleet annex repair shop, approximately 7,300 sf in size. The shop includes 4 large vehicle repair bays, 1 small vehicle repair bay, 1 storage bay, a cubicle area, a private office, an employee lounge, a restroom, and a storage mezzanine. Site work includes regrading, retaining walls, new pavement areas, and parking spaces. Deductive Alternates are listed on sheet AS-003 and include removing a truck parking canopy and additional heavy-duty pavement area from the scope of work. Construction contract time for the project is (190) working days. Bidders for the construction work must submit a satisfactory cashier's or certified check, or bidder's bond having a minimum Best's Rating A according to Best's Key Rating Guide Latest Edition from a surety duly authorized and licensed in the State of Texas, payable without recourse to the order of the City of Laredo, Texas, in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the total bid based on the bid which check or bond shall be submitted as a guarantee that the bidder will enter into a contract, and execute performance and payment bonds within ten (10) days after Notice of Award of contract is given to him for contracts in excess of $50,000.00. Bids without the required check or original bond will NOT be considered. Bidders are expressly advised to review Section C-3.10 of the General Conditions of the proposed Contract as to the causes which may lead to the disqualification of a bidder and/or the rejection of a bid proposal.
