Questions Due Date: December 28, 2021 at 4:00 PM. Intent to Bid Due Date: Jan 19th 2022, 2:00 PM PST SBE (15%) TIME FOR COMPLETION- 210 Days Base A - Work at Pedestrian Bridge: a. Removal of existing coatings, surface preparation, and placement of the new coatings on all steel surfaces of the pedestrian bridge at the Caltrain Bayshore Station at 400 Tunnel Avenue, San Francisco, California 94134: b. Bridge surfaces (interior and exterior) including wall panels at elevators. c. Placement of new coatings on existing clock mountings located at both ends of the pedestrian bridge. d. Provide and furnish all labor, equipment, materials, machinery, facilities, and services necessary to complete the work. e. Removal of all existing bolts and wire mesh panels. f. Temporary detachment and reattachment of existing conduits that are attached to the surfaces in Part 1.01A.1 to allow access to underlying surfaces. g. Solvent cleaning to remove all oil and grease. h. Pressure water washing of all bridge surfaces to remove all surface contamination (salts), dirt and loose paint and rust. i. Surface contamination testing to verify that the pressure water washing has reduced surface contamination levels to below those specified herein. j. Construction of a containment system that permits the use of the bridge, station and train tracks at all times during the surface preparation and painting operations. k. Furnishing an environmental control equipment package to assure the reliable delivery of dry air. It is anticipated that the equipment will only be used when required to meet the ambient conditions required in the specifications and/or by the coating manufacturer. l. Abrasive blasting to remove all existing coatings, rust and mill scale to achieve a surface cleanliness of SSPC SP-10, Near White m. Application of a conventional three-coat inorganic zinc-rich primer, epoxy intermediate, and urethane finish coat system. n. Replacement of wire mesh panels and frames on stair towers and stair guardrails with new wire mesh panels and new frames, connected with stainless steel fasteners. o. Removal of existing wire mesh panels and existing frames, painting frames, reinstallation of painted frames with existing wire mesh panels, connected with new stainless steel fasteners on the pedestrian overpass horizontal walkway. p. Replacement of all bolts, nuts, and attachment hardware with new stainless steel bolts, nuts, and attachment hardware. Fasteners shall be tamper-resistant, including use of tri-groove nuts. q. Repair and touch-up of Contractor-damaged coatings on existing conduit and light standard surfaces. 2. Bid Option B - Work at Stairwells and Elevator Towers (exercisable by the Agency in its sole discretion) a. Removal of existing coatings, surface preparation, and placement of the new coatings on all steel surfaces of the stairwells, and elevator towers at the Caltrain Bayshore Station at 400 Tunnel Avenue, San Francisco, California 94134: b. Stairwell surfaces (interior and exterior) including handrails and stair components. c. Elevator Enclosure (exterior surfaces only). d. Placement of new coatings on existing "BAYSHORE" signage and mounting supports located on top of the elevator towers. e. Provide and furnish all labor, equipment, materials, machinery, facilities, and services necessary to complete the work. f. Removal of all existing bolts and wire mesh panels. g. Temporary detachment and reattachment of existing conduits that are attached to the surfaces in Part 1.01A.1 to allow access to underlying surfaces. h. Solvent cleaning to remove all oil and grease. i. Pressure water washing of all bridge surfaces to remove
