This project includes furnishing and installing roofing materials for Phase I of the Fairgrounds Park Stables Roof Replacement, located at 521 North Cannon Avenue. Remove existing steel roofing and dispose in approved manner. Prevent nails and debris from falling onto alley/grounds where vehicles are present. Alley cannot be closed due to large amount oflocal traffic to residences Remove any loose or broken oak purlins Remove all oak purlins both sides of peak and at low edge of roof on both sides. Install new 2" X 4" spf purlins on no more than two (2') foot centers, spaced in between the oak purlins that remain Install 28 gage, forest green ABM panel metal roofing (see cut sheet) per manufacturer's recommendations. Sheet shall overhang lowest purlin by 1.5". Any cut on the ends ofmetal roofing shall be under ridge cap and not at drip end. Install ridge cap and rake trim per manufacturers recommendations Create transition by overlap new metal onto old roof at limit of phase. Site clean-up No pre-bid meeting is planned. The Park is open to the public between dawn and dusk for your inspection. Once the contracts are executed by both parties, installation may begin once the City receives Program Open Space funding authorization (expected October/November 2021). All work shall be complete within Twenty (20) Working Days once the work begins. Liquidated damages of $500 per calendar day will be assessed and deducted from final payment for each calendar day work remains incomplete. All work shall be done in a workman like manner, in compliance with industry standards and guaranteed against defects in materials and workmanship for one (1) year from the date ofwritten acceptance by the City of Hagerstown. Contractor will correct any and all defects during that warranty period at no cost to the City. The manufacturers' warranty shall be provided to the City prior to payment. The contractor shall provide Insurances per the attached "Insurance Requirements for Independent Contractors". No bid surety is required. No performance bond will be required; the City will pay the selected contractor in full upon the satisfactory completion of all work as determined by the City. The City of Hagerstown reserves the right to reject or accept any or all proposals submitted, either in whole or in part for any reason within its absolute discretion.
