It is the intention of this request to select a proponent(s) who can complete the preliminary design, detailed design, tender, contract administration, construction and post-construction services for the following structures within the County of Brant: - Glen Morris Road Bridge Rehabilitation - Scott Bridge Rehabilitatio - McKenzie Creek Bridge Rehabilitation - Cook Bridge Rehabilitation - W.D Foulds Bridge Rehabilitation The intent of this RFP is to be awarded in parts. Each structure represents an individual part however, the County may bundle parts at its discretion at time of award. The County anticipates five (5) general construction contracts but the County will look to the consultant to make a recommendation on bundling of the works, if possible. For the purposes of this RFP the Proponent shall assume there will be five (5) separate contracts. The name of this project shall be County of Brant Bridge Rehabilitation Projects 2022. This assignment includes 5 bridge/structure projects located within the County of Brant to be completed through the 2022 and 2023 construction season. Information on each individual project is provided in the OSIMs and other documentation available in section 2.21 Reference Documents. The Proponent shall also carry out necessary field investigations of verify the scope of work at for each structure. It is the intent of this proposal that: - The successful proponent may be chosen in late November 2021 based on proposals returned for this RFP, dependent on scheduling of County Committee and Council meetings. - The successful proponent is expected to start immediately upon notification of acceptance of the proposal through a letter of award. - Preliminary design is to be completed by March 30, 2022 with preliminary budget coordinated as early as possible (July at the latest) and including County review. - Detailed design is to be completed by August 31, 2022 including all required project meetings and County review. - Tender documents are to be completed by November 30, 2022 for tendering of construction in January 2023. - The successful Contractor may be awarded in February 2023, dependent on scheduling of County Committee and Council meetings. - Construction is anticipated to commence in May 15, 2023, pending weather and regulatory requirements. - Construction is to be completed by October 15, 2023 or earlier. The above noted schedule is optimal. County staff understand that the design phase may take longer or that funds may not be available to complete all of the work in 2023 and will work with the successful Consultant to create an acceptable schedule.
