A timeline for award has not yet been established.*** Bid security in the form of a bid bond, certified check or cash in an amount equal to 10 percent of the base bid amount shall be submitted with the bid. Should a bid bond be submitted, the bid bond shall be payable to the Board of Education - Marquardt School District 15. Bids shall be submitted on or before the specified closing time in an opaque sealed envelope addressed to: Marquardt School District 15; 1860 Glen Ellyn Road, Glendale Heights, IL 60139; Attn: Armie Gasbarro. The Board of Education reserves the right to reject any or all bids or parts thereof, or waive any irregularities or informalities, and to make the award in the best interest of the District. All bidders must comply with applicable Illinois Law requiring the payment of prevailing wages by all Contractors working on public works. Bidder must comply with the Illinois Statutory requirements regarding labor, including Equal Employment Opportunity Laws. Digital bidding documents are on file and may be obtained on Thursday, September 23, 2021. If awarded the Contract, the bidder agrees to complete all Construction Work and achieve Substantial Completion by May 31, 2022. The date of Final Completion for the entire project is June 30, 2022. A. Work covered by Contract Documents: General Contractor shall provide work as described in the project manual and drawings and below. 1. Provide permeable paver emergency drive and base, including excavation, tree removal, fencing modifications, storm water drainage system, concrete curbing, concrete apron, signage, landscape repair, and pavement patching. 2. Provide electronic traffic signals including lane restriping. 3. Dispose of excess materials associated with the work. 4. Refer to drawings for complete scope. B. Work by Owner: 1. None. C. Definitions. The following terms are used throughout the Contract Documents. The work will be governed in accord with the definitions. 1. Fabricated: Fabricated pertains to items specifically assembled or made of selected materials or components to meet individual design requirements. 2. Manufactured: Manufactured means standard units, usually mass-produced by an established manufacturer of the respective item. 3. Provide: Provide means furnish and install. 4. Shop fabricated or shop made: Shop-fabricated or shop-made refers to items made by a Contractor or Subcontractor in their own Shop. D. Insurance 1. Designated Purchaser: a. Owner shall purchase and maintain Builder's Risk Insurance in accord with the General Conditions. b. The Owner's insurance will be subject to a deductible of $5,000 per occurrence. c. The Contractor shall maintain insurance as defined in the AIA contract documents. E. Contracts 1. The Owner will award a single construction contract for all work specified herein.
