The Kenai Peninsula Borough hereby invites qualified firms to submit a firm price for acceptance by the Borough to place gravel on the following Central, North, South and West Region Roads: ITB22-019 Gravel Project - North Region, Unit 4 - Escape Route, 900 cubic yards KPB Type II; - Sunset Street, 1,660 cubic yards KPB Type II This contract is subject to the provision of State of Alaska, Title 36, Minimum Wage Rates. The subsequent contract will require certificates of insurance. Question due 23, 2021 BY 5:00 PM Gravel upgrade of Nikiski Escape Route rd. Project will begin at the intersection of Marathon Rd and The Nikiski Escape Route Rd and shall continue north Escape Route Road for 3,500 ft. Work will include, but not be limited to prepping road for gravel cap (grade and shape), cap the existing roads with KPB TYPE II Borrow. Results from a current gradation test must be submitted prior to work commencing. A gradual transition will be required at each end of the project. No excavation is proposed. Borrow must be compacted to at least 95% compaction of the maximum density. All work will comply with KPB Chapter 14.06 Road Standards, and applicable sections of the State of Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities "STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS FOR HIGHWAY CONSTRUCTION 2004". Since the disturbed area is less than one acre, a SWPPP is not required; however, the contractor will be responsible for controlling any storm water so that it does not leave the construction area.
