Demolition, site work, new construction and addition to a mixed-use development in Miami, Florida. Completed plans call for the demolition of a recreation facility; for the construction of a recreation facility; for site work for a recreation facility; medical facility; medical facility; medical facility; for the addition of a recreation facility; and recreation facility.

Bids received after the bid submittal date and time stipulated above will not be considered. The County reserves the right to postpone or cancel the bid opening at any time prior to the scheduled opening, reject any and or all Bids, to waive informalities and irregularities, or to re-advertise the Project. The County, choosing to exercise its right of rejection, does so without imposition of any liability against the County. CALENDAR DAYS: 458 (Contingency Period: 43) All Requests for Information (RFI) must be submitted electronically, in word format, by 09/02/2025 to penelope.quintas@miamidade.gov and a copy filed with the Clerk of the Board at clerkbcc@miamidade.gov. SCOPE OF WORK: (Contractor must obtain and submit all permits prior to performing any work.) CONTRACTOR shall review all documents, specifications, plans and scope of work provided by Miami-Dade County Parks, Recreation, and Open Spaces Department for work to be completed. The project shall achieve a LEED Silver certification. Contractor shall furnish all labor, equipment, and materials required to comply with the intent of the WORK described in the contract documents. The work includes, but is not limited to, the construction of a new animal hospital facility with public pedestrian pathways and landscape areas at Zoo Miami. o Work includes state-of-the-art surgery, treatment spaces, a research diagnostics laboratory, and radiology suites, as well as animal holdings for recovery, auxiliary support medical and animal care spaces, and staff support spaces. o The project additionally has a public accessed exhibit component where visitors can view procedures in surgery, treatment rooms, and laboratory activity. o A public plaza and pathways connecting to existing pedestrian pathways, site furniture, and landscape elements are included in the project development. o The Contractor shall furnish equipment and installation as listed in the construction documents, coordination for the installation of specialized hospital equipment (by specialized vendors), and all necessary infrastructure for this equipment. Additionally, IT/LV equipment shall be purchased and installed by Contractor. Each Bid must be accompanied by a certified check or acceptable bid bond in the amount of five percent (5%) of the proposed total bid amount as guarantee that the Bidder, if awarded the Contract, will provide, as set forth in the Bid Documents, a Performance and Payment bond satisfactory to Miami-Dade County, Parks, Recreation and Open Spaces Department, equal to one hundred (100%) percent of the total Contract award amount. Bidders may not withdraw their bids for a period of one-hundred and eighty (180) calendar days after the bid opening, after which they may be requested to extend their bids until either a Recommendation for Award or a Notice of Rejection of Bids has been filed with the Clerk of the Board, Miami-Dade County. Failure to hold prices shall be cause to render the bid non-responsive and risk forfeiture of the bid bond as liquidated damages. A. Work required may include, but is not limited to the following trades: Site work, Carpentry, Electrical, HVAC, Demolition, and Plumbing. B. The Contractor must obtain and submit copies of all permits to the Owner's Representative prior to performing any work. C. The CONTRACTOR shall review all documents, specifications, plans and scope of work provided by Miami Dade County Parks, Recreation, and Open Spaces Department for work to be completed. Additionally, IT/LV equipment shall be purchased and installed by Contractor. D. Phasing Requirements: 1. Construction of temporary public pathway. 2. Hospital facility construction. 3. Temporary pathway location restoration. E. It is the responsibility of the Contractor to verify all pricing and to modify any adjustment factors according to inflation or material cost fluctuations prior to submitting a final Base Bid price. Failure to honor pricing could impact the ability of the firm to receive County business in the future as it will become a responsibility issue in future evaluations. F. The Contractor is hereby advised that all approved permits are based on the Contract Documents and considered an essential part of the Contract Documents. In addition to compliance with the Standard Construction General Contract Conditions, Project#59250020008 Volume(s), Specifications and Drawings and this contract is conditioned upon compliance with all permits. It is intended for the Division 20, 21, 22, 23 scope of work to include complete and functional systems - including all required materials, labor, equipment, and services necessary to achieve the desired final product. It is further intended for the Division 20 scope of work to include coordination with Divisions 21 and 22 and Division 23 for complete Fire Protection, Plumbing and HVAC systems. It is intended for the Division 26 scope of work to include complete and functional systems - including all required materials, labor, equipment, and services necessary to achieve the desired final product.
