Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Haddam, Connecticut. Completed plans call for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot; for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot; and water / sewer project.

The Project primarily consists of sidewalk, site lighting, retaining wall, and storm drainage construction. Bids will be received for a single prime Contract. Bids shall be on a lump sum and unit price basis as indicated in the Bid Form. The Issuing Office is the Office of the First Selectman, 30 Field Park Drive, Haddam, Connecticut. Prospective Bidders may examine the Bidding Documents at the Issuing Office during normal business hours. Printing Bidding Documents is the responsibility of the prospective Bidder. Printed copies will not be issued by the Town. Neither Owner nor Engineer will be responsible for Bidding Documents that differ from documents available from the Project's bidding service webpage.Bids must be accompanied by a Bid Bond in the amount of five percent of the Bid. The successful Bidder will be required to provide Performance and Payment Bonds each in the amount of one hundred percent of the Contract Price. The successful Bidder shall comply with the requirements of Prevailing Wage Rate Laws in accordance with Section 31-51 of the Connecticut General Statutes. The bidder agrees that 8% of the final contract value shall be performed by Disadvantaged Enterprise Enterprises (DBE) certified by the Connecticut Department of Transportation as a sub-contractor or owner-operator of construction equipment. The Bidder must indicate with their Bid the DBE firms(s) it intends to utilize to meet the above stated percentage and submit the Pre-Award DBE Commitment Approval Request with the bid forms. The Contract Documents require affirmative action of the Contractor and any subcontractors to ensure equal employment opportunity as noted in Governor's Executive Orders 3 and 17. The Owner is exempt from payment of Sales and Use Taxes on all materials and equipment to be permanently incorporated in the Work. These taxes shall not be included in the Bid. Unless provided for by the Instructions to Bidders, no Bid may be withdrawn until sixty (60) days after the Bid Opening. The Town reserves the right to: reject any or all Bids; waive informalities or defects in Bids; make extensions to review Bids; and accept the Bid(s) that, in the Town's judgment, will be in its best interests. 11920000
