AEP is seeking to retain an environmental consultant to: A. Complete remediation of source area contaminated material and implement a strategy to mitigate remaining residual impacts; B. Conduct field verification for any potable water wells in the immediate area; C. Re-install groundwater monitoring wells (up to five) and collect groundwater samples from all new and existing monitoring wells; D. Complete a final RMP with a groundwater monitoring program in order to determine and manage any potential risks to the receptors at the site following initial remediation and to monitor residual contaminant concentrations for ongoing reduction and stability; and, E. Conduct semi-annual groundwater sampling as part of the groundwater monitoring program (above), for five years with submission of annual reports. Remediation followed by monitoring of residual impacts to the point at which no administrative controls are required within approximately five years will, in turn, prepare/qualify the property for regulatory closure.
