The South Airport and Belle Aire Public Access Improvement Project will install bike and pedestrian improvements to include signage, striping, pavement restoration, concrete sidewalks and ramps, electrical work, and traffic signal modifications. The work for SOUTH AIRPORT & BELLE AIRE PUBLIC ACCESS IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT consists of the following: Install project signs; Provide notification and postings required by the special provisions and specifications; Provide traffic control throughout the duration of the project per the approved traffic control plan; Sawcut existing asphalt concrete and remove existing pavement section; Remove existing raised median curb; Remove existing sidewalk, curb and gutter and off-haul and dispose of all concrete material; Remove and replace existing drain inlet grates; Install pedestrian crossing warning system; Modify the existing traffic signal at the South Airport Boulevard and Belle Aire Road intersection. The modification would include removal of an existing pole, installation of a new pole, accessible pedestrian signals (APS) and replacing the existing pedestrian signals with count down pedestrian traffic signal heads; Construct new sidewalks, curb ramps with truncated domes, and curb and gutter; Construct full depth hot mix asphalt pavement at locations designated on the plans; Prepare Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) containing BMP and submit to the City for review for approval as part of the project submittal; Comply with the Construction Waste Management Plan (WMP) ordinance reporting requirements of the City (See appendix page for the procedures and forms);Conform with existing asphalt concrete; Remove existing striping and markings and install new pavement striping, markings and markers; Demobilize and complete Final clean-up
